11.Decorations	1914/18 War Medals. D.S.C. 13 September 1915. " For gallantry and good service near Gaba Tepe between 28 April and 1 May 1915. In command of a platoon he held an isolated trench against overwhelming odds for four nights and three days without food or water before being compelled to withdraw."
12. General	After general service through the Great War he was one of nineteen RM. Officers who volunteered for flying on formation of the Fleet Air Arm of the R.A.F After service in 461 Flight (Furious) until the end of 1927 he returned to Corps duty. His record of service shows that he went on to Half Pay on 10 March 1933 and subsequently retired on 10 March 1935 due to non-service.
